MUKAH: A 52-year-old man died after losing control of his car and driving into a ditch in front of a restaurant here at around 5.50pm on Monday.
According to Mukah district police chief Deputy Supt Jimmy Panyau, the victim, identified as Jackry Samat, was on his way to town from Mukah Hospital when he lost control of his vehicle.
“The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was believed to have died from a heart attack as there were no signs of injury on him,” he said.
The man’s remains were taken to Mukah Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
