KUCHING: A 22-year-old man who jumped from the second floor of a building passed away today at 6.46am, leaving behind a wife and a one-year-old son.

Jackson Enterrie Jimbun was drinking and talking about his personal problems with his friends at a rented shop house they stayed at Ang Cheng Ho when he suddenly went to the window and jumped from it at 1.30 am on Sunday, leaving his friends too shocked to do anything. He was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital unconscious.

According to his wife, she did not know why her husband wanted to take his own life. She said the last time she saw him was last week when he went back to Tebedu.

She said on Saturday night, he texted her at 9pm and said he was going to sleep. That was the last time she heard from him.

The wife said it is normal for her husband to return once a while to the village as he was working in a cargo company in Pending.

When he went back last week, she said he seemed normal and did not talk about having any problems.

The wife is waiting for a post-mortem to be conducted before bringing the remains back for burial in Tebedu.

Just recently, a teenager jumped to her death from her house at Batu Kawa after asking her friends to vote whether she should live or die and 69 per cent of her friends said she should die.
