Man dies after motorcycle crash into tree

KUCHING: A local man, in his 30s, died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash along Jalan Datuk Bandar Mustapha early this morning (Nov 5).

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon BACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah in a statement, said that the accident happened at around 12.30 am.

“Investigations found that the victim was riding his Spyder F3-S motorcycle from Jalan Pending to Jalan Datuk Stephen Yong when he lost control and crashed into a roadside tree.

“The victim was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital’s (SGH) emergency unit. However, he was pronounced dead at 1.35 am by medical officers,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Those with information on the accident, are encouraged to contact the traffic investigating officer Insp Shazwina Alfera Ah Yit @ Suaip at 016-7433078 or 082-259900, or approach the nearest police station.

In light of this, Mohd Farhan advised road users to remain vigilant while driving and follow traffic laws to ensure the safety of all on the road.
