KUCHING: A local man endured nearly 30 minutes of agony after his fingers got trapped in a noodle-making machine last night (Sept 21).

The incident happened around 7.04pm at a shop along Jalan Tunku Ahmad Zaidi Adrus, Central Park Commercial Centre.

Firefighters from Batu Lintang station were dispatched to the scene, about 3km away, after receiving a distress call.

Upon arrival, they confirmed that the 33-year-old victim’s left fingers were stuck in the machine.

The team brought the machine outside the shop to facilitate the extrication process using special equipment.

It took about 12 minutes for the team to remove the victim’s trapped fingers.

Once freed, the victim received treatment on-site before being transported to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further medical attention.

The operation ended at 7.34pm.
