BAU: A man managed to cheat death, albeit sustaining injuries, following a two-vehicle collision near Paku Quarry junction, Jalan Paku this morning.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department said the accident which involved a lorry transporting a load of quarry gravel and a Perodua Axia, happened around 9.30am
Firemen from Bau station were promptly despatched to the scene, about 7km from the station, after receiving a distress call.
Upon arriving, the team managed to provide assistance to bring the Axia driver out of his car by using rescue tools.
The injured driver was later handed over to paramedics to be taken to Bau Hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, the lorry driver was unharmed in the accident.
