KUCHING: A man narrowly escaped a fiery death after his Perodua Alza car caught fire at the Serian flyover on the Kuching-Serian Road.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Serian fire station received a distress call at 5.12pm yesterday (June 14).
A team of six firefighters were deployed to the scene and upon arrival found the Perodua Alza engulfed in flames after it crashed into the road divider of the flyover.
The firefighters used water from the fire engine to extinguish the blaze.
The driver managed to exit the vehicle and fled to safety before the firefighters arrived.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are yet to be ascertained.
