MIRI: A motorist managed to escape unhurt after his BMW 523 car caught fire last Monday night.
According to fire operation commander PBK II Nasir Razali, the incident occured at Jalan Kuala Baram, Miri Bypass at 11.20pm
Nasir led a team of seven Lopeng firefighters to the scene after receiving an emergency call about the incident.
The fire had completely destroyed the silver coloured vehicle by the time the firefighters arrived at the scene. They then proceeded to extinguish the flames completely by using a hose reel from a fire truck.
The 33-year-old motorist, who was a Bruneian, managed to escape just as the vehicle burst into flames.
