KUCHING: A man was found dead in his room at a worker’s quarters in Taman Calvary, Jalan Kuching-Serian on Wednesday.
Padawan District Police chief, Supt Aidil Bolhassan, said the deceased identified as Bambang Manapun, 47, was pronounced dead by Kota Sentosa paramedics who went to the scene after receiving a call about the find at 8.30am.
Aidil pointed out that initial investigation revealed that the body was found clad in a blue shirt and a pair of black short pants.
“According to the brother, the deceased was a bachelor and stayed alone at the quarters. A friend also revealed that the deceased was an alcoholic and rarely had proper meals,” he said.
Aidil added that further inspection of the man’s room yielded several bottles of liquor of various brands.
It was also found that he also suffered from high blood pressure and had his last medical check sometime in April 2017.
A 3pm post-mortem at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) found that the body had no wounds or bruises.
The cause of death was haemoperjcardium due to aortic dissection believed to be overconsumption of alcohol.
The body has been handed over to the heirs for funeral and the case has been classified as sudden death.
