KUCHING: A construction worker, accused of stealing a gas cylinder and then lost his temper and damaged his neighbour’s motorcycle, was fined RM1,000 in default a month’s jail today (July 13).

Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi meted out the sentence on Braco Lagan after he pleaded guilty under Section 427 of the Penal Code.

Braco, 22, currently residing at a worker’s quarters near Tabuan Heights here, pleaded guilty to damaging a motorcycle belonging to Sadan Unsing and causing the victim (Sadan) to suffer a loss of RM300.

The accused committed the offense at 8.30am in Kampung Kudei Dungun near Jalan Nanas on July 6.

During the arrest, the police have to use some force to restrain the accused who tried to escape.

Braco was accused by his neighbour for stealing a gas cylinder.

The former then lost his temper and, according to witnesses to the police, used a stick to damage his neighbour’s bike.
