BAU: A 62-year-old man was found dead at a cemetery in Jalan Buso at around 1am this morning (Jan 14).
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the police found the victim with a bruised face, shattered teeth, and a bloody nose.
According to the victim’s wife, the man was going to clean his late mother’s grave at around 8am yesterday (Jan 13) in Kampung Buso, Bau.
“After realising that her husband was not home for long hours, the victim’s wife and their son went to the cemetery and found the victim lying on the ground unconscious,” Poge said in a statement.
Further investigations revealed that the victim may have fallen face down and injured his knee, causing his teeth to be shattered.
Poge said the case has been classified as sudden death.
The body has been sent to Bau Hospital for a post-mortem.
