KUCHING: A Finas staff was found dead, hanged at the staircase of the building in Petra Jaya.
The staff, identified as 33-year-old Hafiziee Safiee, who worked in engineering unit, was found by a cleaner at the staircase of the first floor yesterday at about 2.30pm.
Prior to the incident, at around 11am yesterday, he had asked his colleague whether there were any ropes in the store room. The colleague believed that after taking the rope, he had committed the act himself.
The remains were brought to Sarawak General Hospital morgue by the police and the deceased’s wife was present to identify the remains. The motive has yet to be known.
Kuching District Police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani said the case was classified as sudden death and it was still being investigated.
