MIRI: A 27-year-old local man was arrested on Sunday afternoon, two days after his employer told police his motorcycle had been stolen.

He reported the theft after the suspect who had worked at his oil palm estate in Bekenu suddenly disappeared with the motorcycle and could not be reached on the phone.

Police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari, said police went to a house at Kampung Batu 1, Jalan Lutong – Kuala Baram at about 3pm on Sunday and found the suspect as well as the missing motorcycle.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect has had two previous convictions, one of them for drug abuse. Investigations are continuing.
