KUCHING: A 46-year-old man was injured in an accident involving a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle and a lorry at Jalan Bintulu-Sibu, Bintulu, yesterday afternoon.
The victims known only Yong were travelling along the road when the accident occurred at around 2.30pm near the Jalan Bintulu-Sibu Road Transport Department building.
A spokesman for the Search and Rescue Department (Bomba) said nine personnel in a fire engine and an EMRS vehicle from Bintulu fire station were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 2.36pm.
He said Yong who was pinned to his seat was extricated by the firefighters and later taken to Bintulu Hospital for treatment.
The spokesman said the other victim, known as Kee, 39, was uninjured in the incident.
