BETONG: A local man was left injured after falling from a mango tamarind tree that he climbed yesterday.
The incident happened at Belingan, Jalan Tanjung Assam and it left the victim with injuries to his lower back.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received a distress call from the 50-year-old victim at around 10.10 am.
Firemen from Betong station were promptly despatched to the scene, about 9km from the station.
On arrival, they found the victim conscious and groaning in pain after falling some 15 feet from the tree.
First aid was quickly administered to the victim at the scene before he was taken to Betong Hospital for further examination and treatment.
