SIBU: An accident involving a four-wheel-drive vehicle along Lanang Road today (Jan 13) resulted in one individual sustaining injury.

According to reports by the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the 1.11am incident led to the immediate deployment of a response team from Sibu fire station.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a black Toyota Hilux four-wheel-drive vehicle had skidded into a ditch with a sole male occupant suffering injuries to the head and legs. Although not trapped, the victim faced difficulties moving due to the pain.

Firefighters assessed the situation, and the victim was then removed from the vehicle, receiving immediate on-site medical treatment.

Following that, the victim was transported to Sibu Hospital using the Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) vehicle for additional medical attention.

The team promptly returned to the station after ensuring that the site was safe from accident debris.

The victim is being transported onto the EMRS vehicle.
