KANOWIT: A local man sustained injuries after the pick-up truck he was in, skidded and crashed near the Kanowit roundabout along Jalan Kanowit-Durin yesterday (Oct 23).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from the Kanowit station were deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 6.18 pm.
Upon arrival, the team proceeded to extricate the injured victim, who was found pinned in the front passenger seat.
The man, who sustained waist injuries, was handed over to the paramedics for initial treatment before he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver and another passenger managed to get out of the vehicle with the help of passers-by and they were also taken to the hospital for a medical check-up.
It was not known whether the other two sustained any injuries.
The firefighters carried out flushing works to clear the road from debris before leaving.
