SIMUNJAN: A local man died on the spot following a fatal accident near Kampung Kepayang yesterday (Sept 22).
The accident, which happened around 6.50 pm, involved an oil palm lorry that skidded and crashed to the roadside.
Firefighters from Simunjan station were dispatched to the scene, about 39km away, after receiving a distress call.
Upon arrival, they found the victim trapped in the lorry. Extrication works were conducted using special equipment to remove the victim from the wreck.
Unfortunately, the victim, identified as 25-year-old Mohamad Faizul Raqib Haron, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
His body was later taken to the hospital for post-mortem procedures.
