BINTULU: It was an extraordinary tale of survival when a man narrowly escaped death after being attacked by not one but two crocodiles in Sungai Sebatang Ulu last Thursday (Jan 4).

The ferocious attacks happened around 7 pm when the victim, aged in his 30s, was fishing in the river.

The attacks caused significant injuries to his thigh, calf and leg. The victim is undergoing treatment at the Bintulu Hospital.

The harrowing incident gained widespread attention after a relative of the victim shared a detailed post recounting the ordeal on social media.

Police have notified the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) to initiate further actions, recognising the gravity of the crocodile attacks.

Last month, the SFC on its official Facebook page, warned locals of the increasing crocodile activity, especially from November to March.
