BAU: Police nabbed a 27-year-old man for alleged drug abuse in a house in Bau on Thursday (June 11).
The suspect was arrested in the raid conducted by Bau District Criminal Investigation Division at Kampung Pelaman Ledan.
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, who confirmed the arrest, said police found 7.28g of drugs, believed to be syabu crystals worth RM800, at the scene.
“The drugs were found in eight small clear plastic packets and two straws kept in a black bag.
“The suspect tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said in a statement.
Checks also showed that the suspect had criminal records for drug related offences in the past.
The case will be investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
