MIRI: Sarawak Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) on Wednesday evening arrested a local man, 32 , for drug possession.
According to state NCID chief Supt Sahar Abd Latif the suspect was nabbed near a car park of an entertainment outlet at Jalan Marina 3 at 6.30pm.
The arrest was made
following a public tip-off.
“During a body search conducted, the police team discovered and seized illegal substances believed to be ecstasy pills weighing 3.55g and ketamine weighing 7.25g worth RM2,050,” said Supt Sahar in a press
statement.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, who is unemployed, had been involved in the activity since the middle of last year.
“We believe that the suspect is involved in selling drugs to entertainment outlets here (Miri),” he said.
The suspect is being detained for further questioning.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A (1) and Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
