Man on good behaviour bond for punching friend

KUCHING: A 40-year-old man was released on a two-year good behaviour bond here today for punching a gymnasium owner in the face.

Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali bound Haikal Abdullah over for RM1,000 with a local surety after he pleaded guilty.

He inflicted injuries on the 34 -year-old victim in a gymnasium at Jalan Penrissen, around 8pm, on June 21.

According to the facts of the case, the gym owner was confronted by Haikal, who was his friend, after he had reprimanded Haikal’s son who often frequented the toilet at his gym.

In the ensuing argument Haikal demanded that the gym owner pay RM12,000, to no avail.

Dissatisfied, Haikal then punched the gym owner in the face causing bruises on both his cheeks as well as his nose.

The prosecution of the case was handled by Prosecuting Officer Inspector Mohd Adzmei Ahmad.
