KUCHING: A man, who pleaded guilty to burglary, was fined RM5,000 or 10 months in prison today.
Magistrate Zaiton Anuar passed sentence on Zulkifli Junaidi, 28, under Section 457 of the Penal Code.
The accused admitted to having entered a house in Jalan Pending here at 9.30am on March 2.
Complainant Liew Song Ying’s mother heard the sound of the back door being opened.
Liew, 19, went to check and saw a man getting out from a window and with the help of a friend, the complainant managed to apprehend the suspect.
The complainant then checked the contents of a black plastic bag held by the suspect. Inside were a yellow jacket, a gold watch, a pink watch, a bottle of aloe vera gel, several coins as well as RM1 and RM10 notes.
On the same day at 7.55pm, the accused was arrested by police officers from the Padungan station.
