BAU: A local man, reported missing after a fishing trip in Kampung Suba Bau, was found safe and sound today (July 29).
The 24-year-old had set out for fishing around 2 pm on Sunday (July 28) and did not return home.
His family then reported his disappearance to the authorities around 10.20 am on Monday.
Firefighters from Bau station together with the Civil Defence Force (APM) were dispatched to the scene after being alerted by the police.
A search and rescue (SAR) operation was initiated, covering a 3km radius from the location where his motorcycle was discovered.
Later at 1.42 pm, rescuers found the man near a cemetery and took him home.
The search operation was subsequently called off following the successful rescue.
