SRI AMAN: A local man succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at Sri Aman Hospital following an accident yesterday (July 17).
The accident happened around 4 pm when a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle driven by the victim, skidded and crashed at the roadside along KM41, Jalan Sri Aman-Kuching.
Sri Aman police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said they were alerted to the accident around 4.20 pm.
“However, at around 6.48 pm, we were informed by the hospital that the man succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the emergency unit.
“The victim, identified as Voon Chuang Seng, in his 50s, sustained serious internal chest injuries following the accident,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
