SIBU: A 44-year-old man suffered a broken leg in a head-on collision at Jalan Teku-Pasai Siong on Sunday afternoon (Sept 27).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre received a distress call at 12.42pm and deployed firefighters from Sungai Merah fire station to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found two vehicles — a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle and a Myvi — damaged by the side of the road.
It was understood that both vehicles were heading in opposite directions when one of the drivers lost control of their vehicle and collided with the other.
As a result of the collision, the Myvi driver was found trapped in his seat with a broken right leg.
The passenger in the Myvi and the driver of the 4WD vehicle were unharmed and managed to get out of the vehicles.
Firefighters extricated the injured driver, who was given early treatment by the emergency medical rescue service (EMRS) unit before being sent to Sibu Hospital for further action.
