BAU: A local man sustained broken limbs while a married couple escaped with minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident along Jalan Batu Kawa-Bau late Saturday night.
The collision between a Proton Saga and a Perodua Bezza happened at around 11.15 pm near the Tondong junction.
Firefighters from Bau station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call. Upon arrival, they found the Bezza driver was still in his vehicle and extrication work was performed to free the victim.
The 23-year-old victim, who sustained a broken left arm and a broken left leg, received initial treatment on-site before he was transported to the hospital for further medical attention.
Meanwhile, the Saga driver and his passenger, aged 64 and 52 respectively, had already been rescued from their vehicle by members of the public when the team arrived.
Both sustained only minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for medical care.
