SIBU: The man who fell off an express boat that was heading to Daro on Monday (Oct 12) has been found drowned.
His body was discovered floating about 150m from the location where he fell overboard.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the 39-year-old victim was seated at the back of the vessel with his father-in-law when he suddenly fell overboard and disappeared into the water.
“After a few failed attempts to rescue him, the father-in-law then lodged a report at Sibu Bomba around 8.48am, and revealed that the deceased had a medical history of seizures.
“A search and rescue team was deployed to the scene and the body was found by Sarawak Rivers Board around 11.28am on the same day.”
The body was taken to the jetty and handed over to the police for further action.
