LAWAS: The body of a man was discovered following a harrowing crocodile attack during a fishing trip with his son-in-law and brother-in-law on Friday.
According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department, the search and rescue (SAR) operations team recovered the body in an intact physical state today.
“At 9.53 am, the body was found adrift in the river, located 1 kilometre away from the site where the man was viciously attacked by the crocodile,” stated the department in a press release.
“The SAR operation concluded today at 10.40 am,” the statement said.
The victim, identified as Yambuna Yading, aged 51, went on a fishing expedition with his son-in-law and brother-in-law around 5.30 pm on Friday.
As they were fishing, tragedy struck when Yading was suddenly ambushed by a crocodile, and he swiftly vanished into the depths of the river.
The son-in-law promptly filed a police report, while the brother-in-law remained at the scene, waiting for a SAR operation at 7.30 pm on that day.
