KUCHING: A man lodged a police report after unknown men hurled a Molotov cocktail at his house at Jalan Central Timur late Wednesday night.
The incident occurred at around midnight when the 35-year-old woke up after hearing an explosion outside his house.
Upon going out to check, he saw the front door of the house had caught fire. The flames caused minor damage to the door.
It was said that the victim had lodged a police report last month after he was threatened by two men. The victim said he believed the two men might be involved in the fiery incident.
Police were investigating the matter.
Meanwhile in a separate incident, a teenager was robbed of his belongings by his friend’s acquaintance last Tuesday night.
The incident took place at around midnight when the 19-year-old borrowed a motorcycle from his friend to send another friend home.
Upon reaching his friend’s house in Kampung Tabuan, a youth armed with a knife capproached him and demanded him to take him to an isolated place located near the house.
When they reached the place, the suspect ordered the victim to hand over his mobile phone, watch and RM4.
After the suspect left, the victim went to a police station to lodge a report.
