SADONG JAYA: Sarawak Day is a significant occasion that unites Sarawakians from diverse backgrounds, said Sadong Jaya MP Rodiyah Sapiee.

Speaking at the Jiwa Komuniti Madani Programme in Kampung Ensengei Melayu, Gedong, and Kampung Sungai Buluh on yesterday (July 22), Rodiyah reminded the residents to strengthen unity and patriotism.

“July 22 is a historic day for us, as it can open minds, especially among the youth, to foster a love for Sarawak and maintain the unity that has always existed in our area,” she said.

She credited the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government for the state’s progress since independence 61 years ago.

“We can see now that it is the result of the efforts of previous leaders, and it should be noted that any development carried out today is for the future of the next generation,” she added.

The MP also said through this programme, government policies could be conveyed more clearly and accurately to the community.
