KUCHING: Although Hari Raya Puasa (Aidilfitri) is a few weeks away, the celebrators are already preparing what to wear during the special occasion.

From looking and asking around, it seems obvious that many prefer ready-to-wear ‘baju raya’ or ‘baju kurung’.

The main question is where to purchase them and for how much.

While some prefer the traditional way of shopping, those who have the means and know-how prefer to patronize online shops.

Needless to say, those who shop online are mostly young people who are familiar with the internet and the various online payment platforms.

I might just get a ready-to-wear set. Due to bad experience of buying an outfit that did not fit me before, it is better to go to a boutique and try a few till I find one that I like. It is not only for satisfaction, but for the vibes too.

I am getting a custom-made ‘baju raya’ this year. Yes, expensive but satisfying. I want one that fit me perfectly and meets my preference.

I will go for a custom-made ‘baju kurung’ especially the homemade one. Homemade clothes are cheaper than those online or \ ready-made ones in town. Sometimes, when buying online, the size and fabric are very different from the pictures. Clothes made by a tailor or homemade are very special because you can choose the fabric and design.

I bought ‘baju Melayu’ online this year as there are more options. Several brands and styles from various merchants can be found in one place. There are many designs and patterns depending on current fashion trend. Also, when online, we can compare prices and correctly choose depending on our budgets. Payments are also simpler and faster, allowing us to save more time and money.

I prefer to purchase ready-to-wear ‘baju kurung’ online because the prices are generally lower. We can also save time. All we have to do is figure out what we want to buy and go to the appropriate vendors. The payment options for online purchases are NOW becoming more diverse and secure.

I bought ‘baju kurung’ from an online store because off-line the tailoring takes a long time and can cost more especially when the designs and materials are of high quality.

I prefer buying some ‘baju Melayu’ on online from places such as Shopee, Lazada, etc. There are many options and can be picked and paid for easily. The prices are reasonable and often cheaper than those in physical shops. Also, I don’t have to walk around town.
