KUCHING: Pink & Teal EmpowHer launched its Pink & Teal mini women’s marathon on Saturday as part of the What About Kuching 2019 (WAK2019) calendar.
A collaborative art installation, the Pink & Teal Wings is made of hundreds of pink and teal cancer ribbons with messages of support from men and women from all walks of life. It represents Pink & Teal EmpowHer’s goal of freedom from breast and cervical cancer for every woman in Sarawak.
The Pink & Teal Women’s Mini Marathon aims to raise awareness of breast and cervical cancers, empowering women to outrun cancer – stylishly and with a dash
of fun. There are three fun run categories where participants will each be given a free tutu: the 300m high heel dash, 1km stroller/baby wearing walk, and the 5km tutu fun run. These fun runs are the first of their kind in Kuching.
There are also two competitive categories: the 10km and 21km races with prizes for top runners. All categories are open to both men and women.
The run is set for October 27 in conjunction with World Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
