Marudi and Matu turn from yellow to green; EMCO in four new locations

KUCHING: The status of eight districts in Sarawak has changed in the past 14 days.

Marudi and Matu turned from yellow to green after both did not record any new infection cases in the past 14 days, bringing the number of green status districts to five.

Meanwhile, Lawas and Daro changed from green to yellow after each district recorded one new infection case.

Betong turned from orange to yellow when it recorded only 18 new infection cases. This brings down the number of yellow status districts to 13.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Kapit changed from red to orange when it recorded 34 new cases in the past 14 days.

Kabong changed from yellow to orange when it recorded 24 new cases. The number of orange districts remains at five.

Asajaya changed from orange to red after it recorded 52 new infection cases in the past 14 days. The number of red status districts remains at 17.

SDMC today also declared enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in four new locations.

The EMCO, effective from July 29 until Aug 11, is at KL Engineers Sdn Bhd and Parasmak Plywood Sdn Bhd workers quarters in Bintulu.

“Effective from July 30, Rumah Gilbert Melina, Kampung Rawan Ili, Tanjung Bijat in Sri Aman is under EMCO until Aug 12, while for Rumah Pitre Tinting Mawang, Jalan Petai in Sarikei, it will be until Aug 16.”

SDMC also extended EMCO in one location, namely  Kampung Seratau, Padawan sub-district from July 31 until Aug 13.

Other than that, EMCO ended in five locations, namely the Ponyplastic workers quarters in Bintulu, on July 29.

“The Ladang Karisma workers quarters in Bintulu, Rumah Allin, Sungai Seleku in Sarikei and Kampung Astana Lot and Kampung Sungai Bedil Besar in Kuching ended EMCO on July 30.

“Rumah Sap, Sungai Tulai, Bintangor in Meradong will end EMCO on July 31,” it added.
