KUCHING: Voters in Mas Gading are determined to kick out Democratic Action Party (DAP), who has done nothing for the parliamentary constituency in the past four years, opines Datuk Peter Minos.
The political observer pointed out that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) campaigners are roasting DAP in Mas Gading, stating that the Malaya-based party had been making excuses and empty promises.
“I see that there is indeed anger against DAP because not only that they did nothing in Mas Gading for four years, but the people had painfully realised a terrible mistake in supporting a Malaya-based party that cared nothing for Sarawak with its anti-Sarawak ideology and philosophy.
“I had observed the people in Kampung Dayoh during a GPS talk where they shouted, ‘DAP is good for Malaya, but bad for Sarawak and it is totally not relevant here’,” Minos said on Thursday (Nov 10).
On voters in Puncak Borneo, he said there was a mood of reconciliation where they viewed the candidate, Datuk Willie Mongin, favourably rather than looking at the past.
“I believe the people are of the view that the past is past, and it is time to unite and get together to win big for GPS.
“The mood is that GPS must win big, this will be good for Sarawak and the Bidayuh community who are the majority voters in Puncak Borneo.”
Similarly, he said Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) had no business in Sarawak and was irrelevant in the state.
He noted that PKR could not even look after itself as it was almost leaderless in Sarawak. “People who run Sarawak PKR are almost unknown and untested.”
Minos viewed that the Bidayuhs were fully determined to totally reject DAP and PKR thus going full swing with GPS.
“They seem to be fed up with the two Malayan-based parties for all their bluffs and doing nothing good for them and Sarawak.
“The Sarawak First fever is catching up among the Bidayuhs and this is really good,” Minos added.
