KUCHING: A political scientist today said there is no party member who can truly fill in the void left by the late Tan Sri Datuk Sri Amar Dr James Jemut Masing in Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS).
“PRS is Masing, Masing was PRS. With his passing, PRS will break because there is no leader and personality that has the late Masing’s calibre to unite and lead,” said Professor Datuk Dr Jayum Jawan.
He was commenting on PRS vice president Datuk John Sikie Tayai’s recent announcement that he will be contesting for the party’s presidency.
He pointed out that any of the party’s members can win and be president but to be a leader is another matter.
“However, nobody has what it takes to lead PRS. To be a leader, one must have education, acumen, wisdom, charisma, and above all compassion,” he said.
