KUALA LUMPUR: The cargo division of Malaysia Airlines Bhd, MAB Kargo Sdn Bhd (MASkargo), will be using two cloud-based Unisys Digistics digital logistics solutions to make the airline’s cargo services available to a wider market and provide customers with visibility across the shipment lifecycle.
Under a five-year engagement signed in November 2018, MASkargo will join the Unisys Digi-Portal e-commerce platform to promote its inventory to more than 25,000 buyers at forwarders, airlines, general sales agents and handlers across over 140 countries.
It will also use Unisys Digi-IQ to track, report and measure shipments – meeting and exceeding the worldwide cargo industry standards set by IATA Cargo iQ.
“Kuala Lumpur is a vital and growing cargo transit hub for Asia. This will help us provide a better service and reliability to our customers” said MASkargo chief executive officer, Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh, in a statement today.
“These two Digistics software-as-a-service solutions will provide MASkargo with additional agility, ability to generate new revenues and visibility to quickly take advantage of market opportunities,” said Unisys Asia Pacific commercial sector vice president, Andrew Whelan.
MASkargo is the largest cargo ground handling agent in Malaysia and handles more than 30 customer airlines at its Advanced Cargo Centre, processing more than 800,000 air waybills per year.
Unisys, meanwhile, has more than 55 years of experience providing innovative IT solutions to the travel and transportation industry. Nine of the top 10 airlines depend on Unisys solutions.
