KOTA SAMARAHAN: Mastering knowledge is important, as is cultivating it, says an academic from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas).

Unimas deputy vice chancellor Prof Datuk Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman was addressing participants at the “Knowledge Cultivation Seminar” here today.

A joint collaboration between the Unimas Community Conservation Centre and Sarawak Islamic Council Education Service Bureau, it attracted 70 students from higher learning institutions around here and Kuching.

It featured two speakers namely Sarawak Islamic Council Education Service Bureau director Datuk Dr Adi BadiozamanTuah, who presented “Sharing Through Community-Based Education Programme” and Unimas Centre for Applied Learning and Multimedia’s Learning Technology deputy dean Syahrul NizamJ unaini with his paper on “Application of the Quran in STEM”.

In addition to lectures on knowledge cultivation, the seminar also featured an exhibition by the Unimas Centre of Academic Information Service (CAIS).

Various reading materials were exhibited. CAIS also opened a membership registration counter and provided a space for the facilities.
