KUCHING: Good news for wildlife lovers. The Santubong National Park (SNP) and Matang Wildlife Centre (MWC) will be reopening their doors to the public on April 1 – and this is no April Fool’s joke.

“After being closed for some time due to the monsoon season, we are excited to welcome back nature enthusiasts, wildlife lovers, and all those who appreciate the beauty of Sarawak’s natural habitats,” the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) said in a statement today.

However, the custodian of national parks and wildlife in Sarawak said if the site conditions are unsafe for visitors due to bad weather then the reopening will be put off.

“Mark your calendars, plan your trip and get ready to explore the beauty of SNP and MWC starting April 2,” SFC said.

The public can contact the SNP park office at 011-65730730 and MWC office at 011-65729228 for more information.
