KUCHING: The Chinese community in Matang here has received Chinese New Year (CNY) gifts from Petra Jaya MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman on Saturday (Jan 29).

The presentation ceremony held at the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Matang hall in conjunction with the 2022 CNY celebration is a yearly event performed by Fadillah and Fazzrudin besides other festive celebrations.

“This year we bring oranges and ang pow to give to residents in this area.  May this new year brings us good health and good fortune,” said Fadillah who is also the Minister of Works.

Fazzrudin also took the opportunity to thank all residents in the area for always supporting the SUPP and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

“Thank you for the victory of GPS in the recent state polls. I am always happy to come here as we are one big family that always work together for the development of Matang area.

“I hope we can maintain this relationship to ensure GPS can deliver well for Tupong and Petra Jaya constituencies,” he said.
