KUCHING: The Kampung Bintawa Hilir Maternal and Child Health Clinic (KKIK) here is completed and began serving the public yesterday.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said that the clinic had long been a dream of the residents here.
“I am happy that this project is completed and is ready for use by the community,” he said when officiating at the opening of the clinic yesterday (June 10).
Wan Junaidi said that the clinic was important to mothers, especially from the nearby community; it would help them get better health care.
“The initial cost of the project is RM1 million. However, an additional of RM50,000 is allocated for building parking spaces and toilets,” he added.
Wan Junaidi also requested for the KKIK to be urgraded to a Health Clinic (Klinik Kesihatan) so that it could cater to people from all walks of life.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi; political secretary to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Syed Hamzah Syed Paie, and Sarawak State Health Department director Dr Ooi Choo Huck.
