KUCHING: Malaysia Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Sarawak has rolled out Visit Malaysia 2020 (VM2020) stickers to be displayed on tour buses in the state.
The displaying of the stickers is also extended to excursion vans and travel offices nationwide as part of the VM2020 campaign.
In a statement issued yesterday, the association said the VM2020 campaign launch in Sarawak will highlight the theme of eco and nature in the state.
“Riding on the wave of niche segments that are present in Sarawak, Matta will help to promote the Visit Sarawak campaign, events and festivals to West Malaysia, Sabah and neighbouring countries.
“With this, more overland coach services are encouraged in Sarawak to boost inbound activities,” it said.
The association added that Sarawak was an exotic travel destination with 37 national parks, 14 nature reserves and 5 wildlife sanctuaries.
“With the campaign, now is a good time to experience the dozens of attractions and activities along with the state’s rich history and heritage,” it said.
Present to officiate at the VM2020 sticker’s launch was Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng.
Accompanying him were Matta Sarawak chairperson Lina Tsen and Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) Sarawak director Suriya Charles Buas.
