SINGER-TURN-RADIO personality Asmawi Ani, better known to fans as Mawi, recently lodged a police report following fake news that the two are heading for divorce.
The 42-year-old stated that he and his wife, Ekin, decided to take the case to the police in Bangi and that they will now let the police investigate.
As to whether he has been contacted by anybody after lodging the police report, Mawi said that nobody has gotten in touch with him yet.
Meanwhile, Ekin posted photos and a video of the couple’s trip to the police station, writing, “The war is on.”
Early last week, Mawi and Ekin expressed their frustrations over a post on Facebook, which featured the couple’s photo with the headline suggesting that they are experiencing marital woes.
However, Mawi added that upon clicking on the supposed news, users will be taken to an online selling platform.
“While it’s good to have a business, this is not a proper way to advertise your product,” he said.
The Akademi Fantasia alumnus tied the knot with former singer-turned-producer Ekin in 2008. The two have a daughter together.
