KUCHING: Maxim E-hailing is giving free rides to Sarawak para-swimmers of the ongoing 21st Para Malaysia Games (SUKMA), here.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at the Pusat Kecemerlangan Akuatik, Sarawak Youth and Sports Complex between the e-hailing company and the Sarawak Para-Swimming Association recently.

Representing Maxim E-hailing was Shafiqah Shajari and Sarawak Para-Swimming Association was represented by its secretary Sabariah.

According to the e-hailing company, Maxim E-hailing’s efforts has helped 42 people from the association travel around, especially during the training sessions where they needed to make two trips per day from Batu Kawah to the centre.

“We are so blessed and thankful for the opportunity that Maxim has provided for the team, as we need to make 30 to 40 minute trips twice per day for the morning and evening training.

“Now it’s easier for us to move around because Maxim allows us to make bookings in advance and we manage to save more time.

“In addition, e-hailing is the most convenient and safe travel method because, using it, you get directly from one location to another,” Sabariah said.

Meanwhile, Maxim Malaysia director Mohd Hazwan Musley said he is proud that the initiative to offer free rides to the Para SUKMA swimmers team is carried out in Sarawak.

“We believe that transportation should never be a barrier to participate in community events that promote unity and celebration.

“By providing complimentary rides, we aim to enhance accessibility and ensure that everyone can enjoy the festivities without the stress of travel,” he said.
