SIBU: On Malaysia Day, Maxim E-hailing representatives from Sibu organized charity events at the orphanages and pediatric wards of General Hospital, Miri to commemorate this significant day for our country alongside the children.
The Maxim team generously provided essential goods and attention, eliciting numerous smiles from the children. Maxim drivers and employees dedicated half of the day to engaging with the kids.
Over 150 children had the chance to experience the festive spirit of this important national occasion. Each child received a thoughtfully prepared gift tailored to their preferences, including food supplies, stationery kits, books, and electronic equipment as suggested by the orphanages’ management.
The children’s excitement was palpable throughout the activities. A large custom Snakes and Ladders board injected energy into the gathering, especially during the game sessions involving the orphans and Maxim’s management.
Moreover, Maxim representatives shared valuable insights on road safety, educating the children on proper road-crossing techniques, the significance of various road signs, and more.
“I am delighted with today’s charity event held in partnership with Methodist Children Home Sibu. This initiative aims to celebrate Malaysia Day with the orphans under the care of Methodist Children Home while providing essential goods,” said Miri’s Maxim chief, Haris Morisson.
“We intend to continue such programs in the coming years to nurture patriotism within the community and support those in need.”
A representative from the orphanage management expressed their support for Maxim’s positive community initiatives.
He went on to say, “Children represent our future. It is crucial to safeguard their rights, particularly their right to education, and provide them with the necessary support for their needs and emotional well-being.
“I commend Maxim for today’s initiative, which not only enhances the children’s knowledge but also brings joy to their faces,” added the principal of Methodist Children’s Home.
“The programme was a tremendous success, greatly enjoyed by all, especially given the significance of it being held on Malaysia Day.”
Furthermore, Maxim E-hailing partner drivers organized car parades, proudly displaying Malaysian flags obtained free of charge from the management.
