MIRI: Miri City Council (MCC) Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang is encouraging property owners to raise the Sarawak flag to celebrate Sarawak’s 60th Independence anniversary.
To uplift the Sarawakian spirit during the celebrations, Yii said that raising the flag in a prominent position will add excitement to the diamond jubilee celebrations.
The Sarawak government has organised various programs and events across the state to mark the occasion.
He said the main celebration will take place on July 22 in Kuching, featuring a public rally and parade.
While in Miri, a similar street parade will be held but it is planned for August 19.
