KUCHING: The mayor of Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Hilmy Othman, received a courtesy visit from Johor state government aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Johor contingent and DBKU during the Malaysia Games (SUKMA), scheduled for August 17-24

The Johor delegation was led by chairman of the Youth and Sports, Entrepreneur Development, and Cooperatives Committee Mohd Hairi Mad Shah; mayor of Johor Bahru and deputy Chef de mission (CDM) of the Johor SUKMA Contingent I, Datuk Mohd Noorazam Othman; CDM of the Johor SUKMA Contingent Datuk Pandak Ahmad, and other delegates.

“The visit, held at the Kuching North City Hall Headquarters in Bukit Siol, was part of the preparations for SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024, where DBKU will serve as the adopted department for the Johor SUKMA contingent.

“This is the second time DBKU has been mandated by the state government to support the Johor contingent, and we are committed to assisting with any needs requested by the Johor state government throughout the SUKMA XXI 2024 games,” Hilmy said in a press release issued yesterday (July 17).

Mohd Hairi highlighted that the collaboration could further strengthen the relationship between Sarawak and Johor.

The event was also attended by Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts cum Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
