KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) donated 414 boxes of face mask to residents, and frontliners stationed, at Kampung Tabuan Haji Drahman on Thursday (June 24).
Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng said the face masks were requested by the residents as there was a shortage.
Kampung Tabuan Haji Drahman is currently under enhanced movement control order (EMCO), which began on June 14, after 33 Covid-19 cases were detected. The EMCO is scheduled to end on June 28.
Wee handed over the items to Kampung Tabuan Haji Drahman headman Wan Sahapudin Wan Kasim at Masjid Darul Falah.
Also present were councillors Iskandar Sharkawi, Sebali Chik, Goh Tze Hui and Kho Teck Wan.
The face masks will be distributed to 408 households. Six boxes (300 pieces) will be given to frontliners staff there.
Meanwhile, Wee said: “We need to work together to flatten the Covid-19 infection curve. Stay vigilant and stay alert.”
“Always remind each other, care for each other – our family, neighbours, friends and loved ones. We are still at war with the virus and we need to keep our family safe,” he added.
