KUCHING: MBKS logo will be put up on road and lane signs within MBKS areas of jurisdiction.
This is to distinguish the roads and lanes from others, disclosed MBKS Mayor Dato James Chan Khay Syn.
“We are trying to distinguish our roads by putting MBKS logo. At least people will know that these roads or lanes belong to MBKS. At least, those who live along the road or lane will know that they are in MBKS area and will contact MBKS if they have complaints,” he told the media after MBKS Full Council Meeting, yesterday.
Chan said this would be implemented within this year.
“We already have some roads and lanes with MBKS logo, but we are trying to make the logo bigger so that people or road users can see,” he said.
On other development, Chan said this year’s Kuching Festival would be held from 28 July to 20 August.
Altogether, there will be 13 events planned, namely, Nightly Entertainment, Kuching Got Talents, Traditional Oriental Music, Yuanji Dance Performance, Folk Dance Performance, Football Tournament (Mayor’s Cup), Martial Arts Displays, Basketball Jamboree, Rugby Tournament, Kuching Zumba Feista, Mayor’s Run, Garden Show and School Garden and Landscape Competition.
He said the Mayor’s Run is an additional event.
Chan said MBKS would try to make Kuching Festival better this year.
