KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng recently oversaw the allocation of four work orders to contractors for the repair of concrete drains within its jurisdiction.
The areas included concrete drains at Jalan Ridgeway, Lorong Keranji 4F1, Tabuan Desa (fronting houses No. 105 to 135), Lorong Three Hill Park 14 (lots 5675–5679, 6773–6776, 7934–7937), and Taman Riverview Lorong 5 (lots 1793–1813).
Wee emphasised the importance of adhering to project specifications and the proposed schedule during the implementation of these projects.
“The repair and upgrading of the drains is one of the council’s initiatives in ensuring that the residents of Kuching South have a proper, well-maintained drainage system.
“The project will be done in stages, and the council hopes that it will improve the quality of life of our residents,” he said in a statement yesterday (Aug 18).
At the same time, Wee urged local elected representatives to actively pursue additional funding from the federal government to expedite the implementation of pending projects.
“The real credit goes to those who are bidding for more funding for the council to implement more upgrading projects for the rakyat,” he added.
