KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has received a sponsorship of RM50,000 from KTS Mutual Sdn Bhd aimed at enhancing public engagement initiatives and community enrichment.

The contribution was directed towards the upcoming Kuching Zumba Fiesta 2023 in conjunction with the Kuching Festival, scheduled to take place at 7 pm on Aug 19 at the State Hockey Stadium.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng emphasised the impact of the sponsorship, which plays a crucial role for creating valuable opportunities for public engagement.

He said the essence of the Kuching Festival has always been rooted in its ambition to foster a sense of togetherness, celebration, and cultural exchange.

“With the support of our sponsors, we have been able to organise a series of community-based programmes that directly benefit the people of Kuching.

“From providing educational opportunities to empowering local artisans, it has left a lasting and positive mark on our community.

“We are honoured to have partners who share our vision of enhancing public engagement and giving back to our community,” he told a press conference today.

Furthermore, Wee urged other businesses and organisations to channel their efforts towards meaningful contributions that empower the community.

“Collaboration and partnerships are crucial for progress. It can make meaningful difference for the community,” he said.

The Kuching Zumba Fiesta is open to public at no cost, with registration available through the iPeople app on Android and iPhone devices. Those registering early will automatically be eligible for the lucky draw.
